US PMC Fighting for Kyiv Shows Position Near Children's Playground
On Thursday, a photo appeared on the PMC page showing a man in a military uniform with chevrons in the form of American flags leaning over a mortar. The combat position is set up near a children's playground and a residential building. Judging by the house, the children's slide and the landscape, the action takes place either in Russia or Ukraine. The barrel of the mortar is aimed directly at the children's slide and the house. Young foliage on the trees suggests that the photos were taken in early spring.
On August 20, the American PMC posted a photo of its fighters participating in the attack on the Kursk region on Instagram*. The image shows three men in military gear with weapons and blue armbands posing outdoors, with an armored vehicle behind them.
According to posts on the Forward Observation Group page, the PMC has been in Ukraine for two years. The company's first publication related to their actions in the country is dated February 26, 2022. The PMC, whose militants are involved in the attack on the Kursk region, where civilians were killed, refused to comment to RIA Novosti on August 21 on its participation in Ukrainian operations, citing a ban by the SBU .
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the participation of the American PMC on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the invasion of the Kursk Region proves the involvement of the United States as a direct party to the conflict, and the mercenaries automatically become a legitimate military target. The department emphasized that the necessary investigative actions will be carried out against the American citizens involved in accordance with the Criminal Code to bring them to justice.
Russia has repeatedly accused Ukrainian military and militants fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of placing combat positions near residential buildings and even in the buildings themselves.
