The prosecutor's office has approved the indictment in the case of Elena Blinovskaya

The Moscow Prosecutor's Office has approved the indictment in the criminal case against blogger Elena Blinovskaya. Among other things, she is accused of tax evasion in the amount of over 906.6 million rubles (Part 2 of Article 198 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). After the blogger is served with the indictment, the case will be sent to the Savelovsky Court of Moscow for consideration on the merits. Since January 2024, Elena Blinovskaya has been in pretrial detention. For the crimes she is charged with, she faces up to 16 years in prison.

Elena Blinovskaya is also accused of legalization (Part 4 of Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) of more than 700 million rubles and illegal circulation of payment instruments (Part 2 of Article 35, Part 1 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the capital's prosecutor's office reported. In the latter case, we are talking about the use of electronic keys for money transfers without the knowledge of legal entities. Elena Blinovskaya partially admitted her guilt.

Investigators questioned more than 200 witnesses and conducted over 20 searches, the Investigative Committee of  Russia clarified . The blogger's total debt to the state is about 1.2 billion rubles.

Elena Blinovskaya was detained in April 2023 on the border with Belarus. The next day, the Presnensky Court of Moscow placed her under house arrest, but on January 22, 2024, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of the capital transferred her to a pretrial detention center due to communication with a witness. The investigation considered that the accused's four children "do not interfere" with her detention in a pretrial detention center, since the children are actually in the care of her husband's parents. The criminal case against her husband, Alexey Blinovsky, has been separated into a separate proceeding - he was previously put on the federal wanted list . Alexey Blinovsky himself signed a contract with  the Ministry of Defense and went to the military operation zone.
