Trump promised to resolve the conflict in Ukraine even before his inauguration
Former US President Donald Trump said that if he wins the upcoming presidential elections, he will resolve the Ukrainian conflict before his inauguration. He announced this on June 22 at a rally of his supporters in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania).
“Before I even walk into the Oval Office, shortly after we win the presidential election, I will resolve the terrible [conflict] in Ukraine,” Trump said.
In addition, the former American president promised that if he wins, he will not allow international military escalation and will prevent a third world war.
The inauguration of the US President-elect is expected to take place on January 20, 2025.
This is not the first time Trump has advocated resolving the Ukrainian crisis. For example, on June 21, the former American president said that if he wins the upcoming presidential elections, he will not send American troops to help Ukraine. Or on June 16, he promised that he would put an end to multibillion-dollar tranches to the Kyiv regime, criticizing the $60 billion aid package to Ukraine from Washington. Also in January last year, Trump assured that he could peacefully resolve the conflict in Ukraine within 24 hours if he were the American president. He emphasized that the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine would never have occurred if he had been in power. He later spoke about this in July.
On June 23, French politician, leader of the Patriots party, Florian Philippot, said that allowing the United States to strike Ukraine on Russian territory could lead to a world war. Trump came up with the same idea on June 6, emphasizing that the developments around Ukraine, as well as Kyiv’s statements about attacks on Russian infrastructure, lead to a third world war.
The next, 60th presidential election in the United States is scheduled for November 5, 2024. Party congresses should be held in August-September, at which one candidate from each party will be officially approved. The final stage will be the November vote.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
