The State Duma approved deputy prime ministers

State Duma deputies approved the candidacy of the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov for the post of First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government. The decision was made unanimously: 431 deputies voted in favor. In his post, Manturov will oversee industry.




The State Duma also approved the following for the positions of deputy prime ministers :

  • Tatyana Golikova (362 deputies were in favor, 1 was against). She will oversee the activities of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor , the Ministry of Culture and the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs;
  • Dmitry Grigorenko (for - 378, against - 1, abstained - 55). He will continue to oversee the financial, control and supervisory areas. Also, digital development, communications and antimonopoly policy will be transferred under its coordination. In addition, Grigorenko will retain the post of chief of staff of the government;
  • Alexander Novak (for - 378, abstained - 57). He will continue to oversee the fuel and energy complex. Novak will also be in charge of the economic block of the government, where he will oversee issues of economic support and anti-sanctions measures;
  • Alexey Overchuk (for - 378, abstained - 57). He will coordinate Russia's activities within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, issues of cooperation with CIS member countries and assistance to international development;
  • Dmitry Patrushev (for - 433). He will oversee the activities of the Ministry of Agriculture and  the Ministry of Natural Resources , Roshydromet , Rosvodresursy, Rosleskhoz and Rosnedra, as well as environmental issues;
  • Vitaly Savelyev (for - 378, abstained - 57). He will coordinate the transport industry;
  • Yuri Trutnev (for - 376, abstained - 58). He will coordinate the work of state policy issues in the field of socio-economic development of the constituent entities of the Far East and the Arctic, the creation and development of free and special economic zones, as well as priority development areas;
  • Marat Khusnullin (for - 374, abstained - 61). He will continue to oversee construction, housing and communal services;
  • Dmitry Chernyshenko (for - 432). The areas of activity he supervises include the Ministry of Education and Science , the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Economy in terms of tourism development, the Ministry of Education and Rosmolodezh.

Russia's previous government resigned on May 7, the day of Vladimir Putin's inauguration. On May 11, the president approved a new government structure: ten deputy chairmen and 21 ministers. On the same day, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin submitted a list of candidates to the State Duma for consideration. It was he who proposed the candidacy of Denis Manturov for the post of first deputy prime minister. Previously, this position was held by Andrei Belousov, whom the president proposed to appoint as Minister of Defense.
