The arrested personnel officer of the Ministry of Defense acquired a plot of land and a Volga in four years.

The head of the main personnel department of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Yuri Kuznetsov, accused of bribery, acquired a Soviet Volga car, 15 acres of land and a share in an apartment during four years of service, RIA Novosti found out.

Kuznetsov and his wife, according to the declarations that the agency reviewed, lived relatively modestly: from 2015 to 2019, they bought two cars and acquired ownership of a plot of land with an area of ​​1.5 thousand square meters, as well as an apartment. Kuznetsov’s income in 2019 amounted to over 4.5 million rubles, which is one million more than in 2015.

In 2015, Kuznetsov, like his wife, had two apartments - 72.2 and 156.5 square meters. His car fleet included a BMW X5 and a Toyota Corolla, and his wife had a Nissan Tiida. This year he earned 3.4 million rubles, his wife - 3.1 million.

Already in 2016, the Kuznetsov couple purchased an apartment of 156.5 square meters as shared ownership, while the second apartment was no longer listed in the declaration.

In 2017, the wife got a second car - an Audi A7, a year later it “disappeared”, but the couple acquired two land plots of 1.5 thousand square meters each.

In 2019, my wife acquired non-residential premises in her ownership, and an unfinished construction project of 240 square meters for use. Kuznetsov bought himself a Soviet Volga car.

In 2021, a law was signed to include in the list of persons subject to state protection civil servants of the Armed Forces who took part in the fight against terrorism, as well as civil servants of foreign intelligence agencies - participants in special operations and employees of the National Guard. In this regard, information about them has ceased to be published in the public domain. And since 2023, anti-corruption declarations have ceased to be published in the public domain due to the conduct of the SVO.

Kuznetsov’s arrest became known on Monday. On the morning of May 14 he was arrested. The 235th Garrison Military Court clarified that he was charged with receiving a bribe on an especially large scale. According to the source, we are talking about a bribe of 30 million rubles. The general could face up to 15 years in prison.
