Mamiashvili called the video of the beating of a young wrestler by a coach creepy
The head of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) is outraged by the incident at the tournament in Orenburg.
On May 7, a video circulated in which a wrestling coach from the Dagestan village of Karabudakhkent, Alaudin Ataev, beats an athlete after a defeat at a youth competition in the Orenburg region. The footage shows a man kicking a child. It was alleged that a mentor from Dagestan beat his ward for losing at a tournament in Orenburg. FSBR President Mikhail Mamiashvili called the incident terrible.
“The relevant structures are already dealing with what happened. The question is: how do such creatures get into sports? It’s also shocking that no one stopped, stopped these terrible things - it’s hard to wrap my head around it. We are in touch with the Minister of Sports of Dagestan Sazhid Sazhidov, with the President of the Dagestan Wrestling Federation Omar Murtuzaliev - all measures that depend on us will be taken,” TASS quotes Mamiashvili as saying.
“I am a supporter of a professional, responsible attitude. Big sport is self-abuse. But this is the art and noble mission of a coach - to help a child, teach him to cope with both defeats and victories - they also sometimes carry a destructive force for a growing personality. There is a limit to everything, and what we saw has nothing to do with sports or raising children,” added the head of the FSBR.
According to the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Dagestan Sazhid Sazhidov, Alaudin Ataev is not an accredited coach. The minister announced the intervention of law enforcement agencies and promised that Alaudin Ataev would no longer work with children. According to the executive director of the Dagestan Wrestling Federation, Makhmud Magomedov, Alaudin Ataev is the father of the injured child.
