Three plant employees were injured during the Ukrainian attack on Zaporizhzhya NPP.

Three employees were injured after the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, one of them is in serious condition, Rosatom reported.

“At 11:38, the attack hit the area adjacent to the canteen, as a result of which three employees were injured (one of them seriously). Half an hour later, a drone attacked the cargo port area. Then the sixth power unit of Zaporizhzhya NPP was attacked by a drone; the dome was hit,” the statement says.

It is clarified that the station did not receive critical damage, the radiation background has not changed and does not exceed natural background values.

At the same time, the state corporation called this attack unprecedented and called on the IAEA, in particular personally the head of the agency Rafael Grossi, as well as the governments of the EU countries to respond to a direct threat to the safety of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and condemn the attempt to escalate the situation around the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

Earlier on Sunday, the ZNPP press service also reported about shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, they noted that 20 minutes before the first drone strike, which hit the cafeteria, IAEA experts were making a routine inspection of this area.

As Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova emphasized, Russia warns the Kiev authorities and the West against any attempts to attack or destabilize the situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant. In addition, Moscow calls on the IAEA to actively use the experts present at the station to record all attacks from the Ukrainian side.
