Director Alexander Ponomarev died at the age of 64, according to the website of the Russian Academic Youth Theater (RAMT).




“Director Alexander Ponomarev has passed away,” the message says.

Colleagues note that Ponomarev had an amazing ability to “hear the style, atmosphere and special breath of the era he was talking about.”
