The Russian Armed Forces raised the Russian flag over the coke plant in Avdeevka

The Russian Armed Forces hoisted the Russian flag over the coke plant in Avdeevka. This was reported in the Telegram channel of war correspondent Alexander Kots.

According to him, the Russian tricolor was raised by soldiers of the 114th brigade of the 1st Army Corps.

Kots clarified that the Russian Armed Forces continue to clear the plant. Units are assigned to new positions.

In addition, according to the military correspondent, the Russian flag was unfurled near the walls of the railway station in Avdeevka by servicemen of the assault detachment of the 35th brigade.

The Avdeevka coke plant was built in the mid-1960s. It was the largest coke plant in Europe. After the start of a special military operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine turned it into a separate fortified area.

Earlier on Saturday, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, announced the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Avdiivka. Later, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky confirmed this information.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Armed Forces attacked militants of the Ukrainian National Battalion "Azov"* who were hiding in the basements and buildings of the Avdeevka Coke and Chemical Plant.

* The nationalist Ukrainian battalion "Azov" is included in the Russian Federation in the list of terrorist and extremist groups.
