Journalist Carlson was outraged by prices in the USA compared to Russian ones

American journalist Tucker Carlson, who visited Moscow for an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, visited the Auchan hypermarket and was outraged that products in Russia are four times cheaper than in the United States. He published a video of his trip to a Russian store on his website on February 14.

“If you go into a Russian grocery store and see how much food costs and how people live, it will turn you radically against our (American - Ed.) leaders. That’s what I’m experiencing anyway,” he said.

The journalist visited the hypermarket in the Gagarinsky shopping center. There he bought bread, flour, fruit, Crimean wine and other products. Tucker noted that all this could be purchased by a family of four for a week. In total, he paid 9,481 rubles (approximately $104) for groceries. At the same time, the journalist clarified that in the United States he would have paid over $400 for such a purchase, four times more.

Earlier in the day, it was also reported that Carlson admired the Kievskaya metro station in Moscow. According to him, it "looks better than anything in the US." At the same time, Carlson noted the cleanliness and order at the station, which he and his team visited.

The journalist first flew to Russia on February 3. Carlson explained his trip as a desire to “talk to people and see how things work.” He noted that he loves Moscow and considers it beautiful.

Putin's interview with Carlson was published on February 9. Its duration was more than two hours. During the meeting, the head of state told the journalist about how Kievan Rus, and then the unified Russian state with its capital in Moscow, took shape, and also pointed out the preconditions for the development of Ukrainization and nationalism on the territory of Ukraine. The Russian president also answered questions regarding NATO , the USA, China, the Nord Stream explosions, the release of American journalist Evan Gershkovich, who was accused of espionage in Russia, and other topics.

Putin's interview with an American journalist crossed the threshold of 200 million views in less than a week since its publication on the social network X (formerly Twitter). The number of views of the interview with Putin on Carlson’s YouTube channel reached almost 16.5 million.
