A CTO regime was introduced in the region of Belarus bordering Ukraine

Belarusian security forces introduced a counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime in the Lelchitsy district of the Gomel region, bordering Ukraine. This is reported by the local newspaper “Svetlaya Zhizn”, which refers to the regional KGB department.

“A counter-terrorist operation regime has been introduced in the Lelchitsy district of the Gomel region,” the publication writes.

The population of the area was asked to remain calm and comply with the demands of the security forces.

On February 5, deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces (SSO) brigade of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Vadim Bobilevich, said that the republic had strengthened security of the border with Ukraine. According to the military man, Belarusian soldiers are ready to perform any tasks.
