Three FSB officers were accused of accepting bribes amounting to over 5 billion rubles

 One of the suspects was also accused of organizing a criminal community using his official position.




Three officers of the “M” department of the FSB  of the Russian Federation are accused of receiving bribes totaling over 5 billion rubles. Law enforcement agencies reported this to TASS.

“The Main Investigation Department of the RF IC is investigating a case against three employees of the M department of the FSB: Alexei Tsarev, Sergei Manyshkin and Alexander Ushakov. They are accused of a series of crimes, including attempted bribes totaling over 5 billion rubles,” the agency’s interlocutor said. According to him, Ushakov was also charged under Part 3 of Art. 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of a criminal community using one’s official position).

“Manyshkin and Tsarev made a deal with the investigation and testified as accomplices in the crime; they are under house arrest. Ushakov was taken into custody,” the agency’s interlocutor concluded. The 235th Garrison Military Court TASS confirmed information about the house arrest of FSB officers Tsarev and Manyshkin, but declined to make any other comments.

Directorate "M" was created in the FSB in 1999-2000. It is engaged in counterintelligence support and combating corruption in the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs the Ministry of Justice , the Ministry of Emergency Situations , the Investigative Committee and other law enforcement agencies.
