The U.S. allowed the Armed Forces of Ukraine to make its own decisions on the range of HIMARS strikes
Washington allowed Kiev to independently make decisions on the range of impacts from the HIMARS MLRS, writes "Strana.ua" with reference to the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.
"The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will independently decide on the range of strikes carried out with the help of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems," the publication quotes the diplomat's statement.
According to her, the White House plans to transfer these systems to Ukraine in the near future.
At the end of last year, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced the transfer of the last $250 million package of military assistance to the former Soviet republic. It includes ammunition for NASAMS air defense systems and HIMARS MLRS, as well as 155 and 105 mm artillery shells, Javelin, TOW and AT-4 anti-tank missile systems, as well as more than 15 million cartridges for small arms.
The White House had previously warned that the means at its disposal to support the Kiev regime were running out. There will be no new supply of weapons and ammunition until Congress approves additional funding.
At the end of 2022, when the first 20 HIMARS MLRS were handed over to Ukraine, the American media wrote that the United States had changed these systems so that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not use them to strike deep into Russian territory.
