The United States will soon not be able to provide Ukraine with Patriot missiles

 White House and Pentagon officials have warned that the United States will soon be unable to supply Ukrainian batteries with Patriot missiles, which cost between $2 million and $4 million apiece. The New York Times writes about this.

The publication states that Ukraine has become a testing ground for a number of air defense systems. They range in sophistication from Stinger trucks and short-range anti-aircraft guns such as the German Cheetahs, to complex long-range systems such as the French-developed SAMP/T. But Patriot missiles receive special attention. The Congressional Research Service report highlights that the Patriot radar has a range of more than 93 miles (150 km) and can track up to 100 targets simultaneously.

On December 28, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced that this year the United States has provided Ukraine with 34 military aid packages worth over $24 billion. These included Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, ATACMS ballistic missiles, Abrams tanks, DPICM shells, air defense and mine clearance equipment. and other equipment.

Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of foreign weapons to Ukraine. The  Russian Foreign Ministry warned that continued military support for the Kiev authorities is bringing NATO closer to the dangerous point of a direct military clash with the Russian Federation.
