The St. Petersburg oil terminal confirmed that it was the target of a Ukrainian UAV attack

Co-owner of the Petersburg Oil Terminal JSC Mikhail Skigin, in a commentary to Kommersant, expressed gratitude to the Russian Ministry of Defense and President Vladimir Putin for the work of the air defense in intercepting the drone of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to him, the system worked “lightning fast.”

“This made it possible to prevent a monstrous catastrophe, which could have resulted in dire consequences, human casualties, and gigantic environmental damage to the Baltic. Once again I express my gratitude to the armed forces of our country, their leadership, this is a brilliant job,” Mr. Skigin assessed the possible consequences.

The wreckage of a drone intercepted over the Leningrad region on the night of January 18 was found on the territory of an oil terminal in St. Petersburg. Presumably this was his goal.

The head of the Coordination Council for the Integration of New Regions under the RF OP Vladimir Rogov shared details of the attack in his Telegram channel. He indicated that the drone sent by the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried about 3 kg of explosives. After the drone was intercepted, the wreckage was found on the territory of the Petersburg Oil Terminal JSC.

Governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko reported that there were no casualties. The same information was confirmed by the head of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov.
