The prosecutor's office has requested 28 years in prison for Trepova, accused of murdering Tatarsky.

The state prosecution requested 28 years in prison for 26-year-old Daria Trepova, accused in the case of a terrorist attack that resulted in the death of military correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky. The victims in the terrorist attack case previously filed claims against Trepova in the amount of 50 million rubles. as compensation for moral and property damage.

“The evidence examined is sufficient to conclude that Trepova is guilty of committing the crime of which she is accused. I consider it legal and justified to impose a sentence of imprisonment on the defendant for a combination of crimes for 28 years in a colony,” said prosecutor Nadezhda Tikhonova during the debate (quoted by Interfax). Additionally, the prosecutor asked Trepova to be fined in the amount of 800 thousand rubles.

The state prosecution claims that Daria Trepova’s version that she did not know about the explosives inside the figurine brought to a meeting in a cafe in St. Petersburg with Vladlen Tatarsky was carefully checked, but was not confirmed. “She (Daria Trepova - Kommersant) understood that she was actually carrying out tasks, instructions from a person who opposes the implementation of the SVO and the policies pursued by the Russian Federation, and is a resident of Ukraine,” said Nadezhda Tikhonova.

Daria Trepova agreed only with the charge under the article on the use of forged documents (Part 4 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). She did not admit guilt in the terrorist attack (clause “b” of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and illegal trafficking in an explosive device (Part 4 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The second person involved in the case, Dmitry Kasintsev, who is accused of harboring Daria Trepova after the terrorist attack, was asked by the prosecutor to be sentenced to 1 year and 10 months in a general regime colony. According to Nadezhda Tikhonova, the investigation was able to establish that Mr. Kasintsev knew about the crime committed by Daria Trepova, “but repeatedly provided false information to law enforcement officers.”

Vladlen Tatarsky died on April 2, 2023 as a result of an explosion in a cafe in St. Petersburg. The investigation considers the organizer of the terrorist attack (Part 4 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) to be a journalist and one of the former leaders of the National Bolshevik Party (banned in the Russian Federation) Roman Popkov, and an accomplice (Part 3 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) - Ukrainian Yuri Denisov. According to investigators, it was he who handed over the booby-trapped bust to Daria Trepova through the delivery service.
