The Minister explained why salaries for officials are raised in Moldova
The Minister of Labor and Social Protection explained why the state raises the salaries of officials.
The Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu called the amount of costs of 100 million lei to increase the salaries of government employees as a measure necessary to attract professional personnel.
This was stated by the head of the department within the framework of the program on one of the local TV channels. According to Buzu, the increase in wages should be motivating for officials.
"For the increase of wages for about 1,200 people, less than 100 million lei have been allocated. We need professional teams that meet current requirements. (....) We want to increase the salary because we want to achieve results," the minister said.
According to him, in the coming year an increase in the salaries of teachers and scientific workers is expected. The Minister said that the remuneration of social workers will increase by about 15%.
As Alexei Buzu noted, in 2024 the average salary in the economy may increase by about 2,000 lei - from 11,700 to 13,000 lei.
The projected amount for next year is calculated on the basis of the main macroeconomic indicators for 2023-2026.
