The court sent Elena Blinovskaya to pre-trial detention center

The Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow decided to send blogger Elena Blinovskaya to a pre-trial detention center due to violations of the conditions of house arrest, the joint press service of the capital's courts told RBC.

 

“At the request of the investigation, a preventive measure was chosen in relation to Elena Blinovskaya in the form of detention until April 26, 2024,” the Investigative Committee reported on its telegram channel.

As TASS reported, the investigator said during the court hearing that Blinovskaya “cynically neglected” the restrictions established for her. In particular, she “held a social New Year’s party, at which she communicated, including with a witness in the Osmolova case.” Blinovskaya did not admit guilt. Her lawyer Natalia Salnikova said that the suspect did not know that Osmolova was a witness in her case.

Blinovskaya was detained in April of this year on charges of tax evasion of almost 1 billion rubles. She has been under house arrest since April 28. On January 22, the Investigative Committee brought new charges against the blogger due to the illegal circulation of payment funds by a group of persons by prior conspiracy.
