 The combined air strike on Yemen was carried out from the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower, the submarine USS Ohio and a group of destroyers and cruisers. A Pentagon representative stated this to RIA Novosti .

“We used a number of US Navy aircraft from USS Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group 3, the Gravely, Philippines Sea and Mason - all cruisers or destroyers with guided cruise missiles. And finally, the Ohio class submarine, carrying a guided missile weapons, also took part in last night's strikes," the Pentagon said.

According to the American military department, the strike was carried out from 28 points throughout the Middle East.

Prior to this, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on all parties to avoid escalation in the Red Sea.

The UN representative stressed that attacks on shipping in the Red Sea threaten the security of global supply chains and have an impact on the humanitarian situation in the world.
