Lukashenko forbade lying to the new Minister of Economy of Belarus

 President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on Thursday, January 4, appointed Yuri Chebotar as the country's Minister of Economy and forbade him to lie about the state of the republic's economy. The words of the Belarusian leader are published on the website of the head of state.

“Your work must be based entirely on the truth. No embellishment. Sooner or later I will notice it. I have enough leverage for this. Therefore, do not lie under any circumstances. Everything is as it is,” Lukashenko said, addressing the new minister.

According to him, providing inaccurate information will lead to poor management decisions. The head of Belarus also said that the current year will be difficult and it is important to show people that the government of the country has worked honestly and sincerely all these years and will continue to do so. The Ministry of Economy can play an important role in this, he added.

In November it was reported that trade turnover between Russia and Belarus in 2023 had reached record levels. The economies of the two countries have reached record numbers in many areas, noted Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov. According to him, about 85% of all exports of Belarusian dairy products go to the Russian Federation.
