Kyiv reported a difficult situation at the front
The journalist asked him what the solution to this situation should be, Podolyak described two options: “either Ukraine receives all the resources” for fighting, including high-tech ones, which costs “a certain amount of money,” or “tomorrow other countries, including European."
“The war will be much more expensive, and, above all, mobilization will be carried out in all countries,” the adviser warned.
When asked by a journalist whether Ukraine would accept an offer from neighboring countries to help with military personnel, if it were received, he answered in the affirmative, but emphasized that such initiatives had not yet been voiced. Now we are talking about arms supplies or sanctions aimed at isolating Russia, this “has not yet yielded results,” Podolyak admitted.
The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces promised in the fall not to slow down the offensive in the winter. Ukrainian soldiers went on the offensive, mostly without using armored vehicles, and therefore the weather should not seriously affect the process, said the commander of the Tavria group, Alexander Tarnavsky. President Vladimir Zelensky also noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will attack in winter and in bad weather conditions.
The Ukrainian authorities admitted that the summer offensive did not achieve the desired results.
According to the New York Times, American and Ukrainian authorities began looking for a new combat strategy for early 2024 back in December and planned war games in Germany. The United States insists on a conservative strategy for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, aimed at “holding territory,” “dig in, building up reserves and forces throughout the year,” while the Ukrainian side strives for offensive actions, sources told the publication.
Russian authorities consider the Ukrainian offensive a failure. President Vladimir Putin predicted irreparable damage to Ukraine's statehood if Kyiv continues its policy.
