Kirby announced the suspension of arms supplies to Ukraine from the United States

 The supply of U.S. aid to Ukraine has been temporarily suspended as long as negotiations on Congressional approval of funding continue. This was stated by John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator at the White House National Security Council.

The assistance we provided is currently suspended," Mr. Kirby said at a briefing (quoted from Reuters). He recalled that the last package of assistance was sent to Ukraine at the end of December last year.

"It is critical that Congress act on this request regarding national security so that we receive further funding," John Kirby added.

On January 7, the U.S. Congress reached an agreement on government funding, which prevented a possible shutdown. The total budget of the American government for 2024 will be $1.590 trillion, including $886 billion for defense and $704 billion for non-defense spending. However, the deal does not include military and financial assistance to Ukraine, which was requested by President Joe Biden.
