Forecaster Tsygankov spoke about abnormally cold weather in Russia
Deputy Head of the Situation Center of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Anatoly Tsygankov spoke about the anomalies in Russia.
“Today we have abnormal cold weather in most of half of Russia: -56 °C in Yakutia, -35 °C in Norilsk, -47 °C in the north-east of the Urals, -44 °C in Salekhard, -44 °C in Yekaterinburg −37 °C. In Samara - −28 °Ð¡, in the Voronezh region - up to −28 °Ð¡, in the Moscow region - −27 °Ð¡. Chita, Irkutsk, Baikal and around Baikal, Khabarovsk are also cold. In the south of Sakhalin - -6, in the north - -25 ° C,” the forecaster explained.
According to him, this is due to the anticyclone that stands over Yakutia.
“There is an area of high pressure. At the same time, there is a cyclone in the northeast of the Urals. There's cold air pumping in there. There is a warm cyclone in our Stockholm area and it is warm in almost all of Europe,” Tsygankov noted.
According to the meteorologist, on Monday, January 15, the cold anomaly will persist in Salekhard, Chelyabinsk, Kazakhstan, from Magadan to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
“In Moscow it will be 2 degrees colder than normal. It's slowly getting warmer in Moscow. The whole week will be cloudy. Tomorrow - -1...-3 °C, Tuesday - -1...-3 °C, snow. On Wednesday – −8…-10 °Ð¡. On Thursday there will be an atmospheric front - from +1...-4 °C. On Friday - +1...-3 °Ð¡. On Saturday night - -14 °C, on Saturday day - -7...-12 °C,” he concluded.
