China imposes sanctions on five US companies for supplying arms to Taiwan

China has accused the United States of violating the “one China” principle due to Washington transferring weapons to Taiwan. In this regard, Beijing imposed sanctions on the companies BAE Systems Land and Armament, Alliant Techsystems Operation, AeroVironment, ViaSat and Data Link Solutions.




“The United States is openly violating the “one China” principle... by selling weapons to the Chinese region of Taiwan, and under various pretexts is introducing illegal unilateral sanctions against Chinese enterprises and individuals,” reads a statement on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry .

The restrictions include freezing assets. Chinese organizations and individuals are prohibited from entering into transactions with these companies and collaborating with him.

Beijing believes that Washington is undermining China's sovereignty, infringing on its security interests and harming peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. China expressed "categorical dissatisfaction" with the US actions. China demanded that the “one China” principle be respected and that Taiwan stop arming Taiwan.
