Boris Johnson predicted military aid to Kyiv if Trump wins

Donald Trump's victory in the presidential race is what the world needs. Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wrote about this on January 19 in his column in the Daily Mail.

According to him, all attempts being made in the United States to instill in the ex-leader the image of a dictator do not give the expected effect, but, on the contrary, make Trump stronger. Speaking about his attitude towards Ukraine, Johnson expressed doubt that the former American leader would “abandon this country” in the event of a new victory. Thus, the politician recalled that it was during the presidency of Donald Trump that the first Javelin anti-tank weapons were presented to Kyiv back in 2018.

“If he does the right thing and supports the Ukrainians—and I believe he will—a Trump presidency could be a great victory for the world,” Johnson wrote.

On January 19, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that he was frightened by the words of former American leader Donald Trump about resolving the Ukrainian conflict in just 24 hours.

Earlier, on January 17, Zelensky said that Trump’s plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict would lead to Kiev losing its territories.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on December 15, commenting on Trump’s words that he would end the conflict in Ukraine in one day, said that this problem cannot be solved so simply.

On November 21, Zelensky expressed his readiness to discuss with Trump his plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, he emphasized that proposals that contain any territorial concessions are unacceptable to the state.

On November 13, the Ukrainian publication Strana.ua wrote that Zelensky wants to get through to the former US President for negotiations. And on November 8, in an interview with NBC, he invited Trump to come to Kyiv. The Ukrainian president said that he could explain to the former US president in 24 minutes that a peaceful settlement could not be achieved in 24 hours. However, Trump declined the invitation. The former US President emphasized that the administration of current American leader Joe Biden is now dealing with him and he would not want to create a conflict of interest.

On October 9, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba expressed the opinion that relations between Washington and Kiev will become more complicated as the American presidential elections approach.

On October 6, Trump said that it would be the right thing for Ukraine to transfer to Russia those areas of the republic where the local population speaks Russian. According to him, he would be able to agree with Kiev on such a deal, which, according to him, would give the Ukrainian side the opportunity to preserve the state.
