Abnormal structures were discovered on the moon

 Strange boulders surprised scientists with their atypical reflectivity.

A group of German scientists found several stones on the Earth's satellite that strangely reflect light. They are located in an area that is already known for one feature - the moon whirlpool of Rainer Gamma, writes ScienceAlert.

Initially, the planetary scientist from the University of Münster in Germany, Ottaviano Rüsch studied the lunar whirlpool. It is believed that such structures are formed due to the interaction between magnetic anomalies in the lunar crust and electrically charged small dust particles raised as a result of impacts by micrometeorites or comets. The scientist wanted to prove this by examining images of the lunar surface.

In the photos taken by the NASA orbiter, the specialist noticed a strange stone. This anomalous structure reflected light in a completely different way than any dust-covered boulders he had seen before.

"We recognized a boulder with characteristic dark areas in just one image," explains Ryush. "This stone is very different from all the others, as it scatterses less light than other stones."

By connecting the capabilities of AI, the scientist found other boulders with strange reflective properties. They're being studied so far. Most likely, their dissimilarity from the rest of the stones is associated with a thin layer of dust that covers them. It probably has a unique density, size or structure. Its properties are still unclear.
