A case of mass unrest was opened in Bashkiria
A criminal case was opened in Bashkiria after riots in front of the courtroom in Baymak, the republic’s emergency services told RIA Novosti.
Today, January 17, the Baymaksky District Court sentenced Fail Alchinov*. He was found guilty of inciting hatred on ethnic grounds and sentenced to four years in prison. As the court found, in April Alchinov* spoke at a gathering in the village of Ishmurzino and insulted Caucasians and residents of Central Asia.
The day before, the Bashkir Ministry of Internal Affairs drew attention to calls for an unauthorized rally in front of the courthouse that were spreading on social networks and called on people not to succumb to provocations and not to participate in it. Local media wrote about the detention of several violators who were planning an uncoordinated rally.
According to the agency's interlocutor, as a result, law enforcement agencies opened a criminal case of mass disorder against the participants in the unauthorized rally. They face up to 15 years in prison.
“This is a very serious article of the Criminal Code, from the category of especially serious ones. Mass riots are a threat to the national security of the country, and therefore the punishment under this article is quite serious. I advise you to come to your senses and not ruin your life, especially since all controversial issues can be resolved legally,” Rafail Divaev, chairman of the public council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region, commented on the situation to reporters.
