A British expert refuted the words of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense about “Daggers”: “The picture is terrifying”

British military expert Alexander Mercouris denied statements by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense about the interception of Russian hypersonic missiles. He admitted that this weapon penetrates the Ukrainian air defense through and through, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot do anything about it: “The picture is terrifying.”

Mercouris noted that Western anti-aircraft missile systems that Ukraine has at its disposal are truly powerless against hypersonic missiles. According to him, “Daggers” easily overcome air defenses and hit all intended targets, causing colossal damage to the Ukrainian army.

It is noteworthy that Mercuris’s words completely contradict the statements of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, which regularly reports on the interception of all Russian missiles, including Kinzhals. These statements are also cast in doubt by videos appearing on social networks from the Ukrainians themselves, in which columns of smoke and fires are visible - the consequences of Russian arrivals. This is one of the reasons why the Ukrainian authorities prohibit their citizens from filming and posting such videos on the Internet.

It is worth noting that hypersonic weapons are, in principle, impossible to intercept. None of the air defense systems existing today is capable of shooting down a target that flies at speeds several times greater than the speed of sound.

These weapons are of great concern to the United States, as they devalue the entire global air defense system, which the United States has been building for decades and into which it has invested trillions of dollars.
