248 Russian military personnel were returned from Ukrainian captivity
Russian Ministry of Defense: 248 Russian military personnel were returned from the territory controlled by Kiev.
Thanks to the mediation of the UAE, 248 Russian soldiers were returned from Ukrainian captivity, the Ministry of Defense reported.
"On January 3, as a result of a complex negotiation process with the territory controlled by the Kiev regime, 248 Russian servicemen were returned. The return of <...> from captivity was made possible thanks to the mediation of the humanitarian nature of the United Arab Emirates," the statement said.
It is noted that all released are provided with the necessary medical and psychological assistance.
"By military transport aircraft of the Russian Air Force, servicemen will be delivered for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense," the department added.
In mid-December, President Vladimir Putin said that the number of Ukrainian prisoners of war has recently increased dramatically. Thus, over the last week of last year, 43 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine surrendered to Russian troops, half of them in the Kupyansky direction.
