The U.S. State Department approved the sale of $147.5 million worth of shells to Israel

 

The American State Department approved the sale of $147.5 million worth of artillery ammunition to the State of Israel. This follows from the statement of the Security Cooperation Agency of the U.S. Department of Defense.

It is noted that we are talking about high-explosive fragmentation ammunition of 155 millimeters M107 caliber.

"The Secretary of State came to the conclusion and provided Congress with detailed confirmation of the existence of emergency circumstances requiring the immediate sale to the Government of Israel of the listed military goods and services for the national security of the United States," the military department reported.

The escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict began with the attack of Hamas fighters on Israel on October 7. At the end of the same month, the IDF launched a ground operation in the Gaza Strip. To date, the Israeli military has been able to surround the city of Gaza, and the enclave itself is actually divided into northern and southern parts.

Earlier, the IDF reported the destruction of the "secret apartment" of the head of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Yahya Sinwar. The Israel Defense Army also announced the elimination of tunnels used by the organization's leaders.
