The UN Security Council will hold an extraordinary meeting on Ukraine
The UN Security Council will hold an extraordinary meeting on Ukraine on December 30, the press service of the Permanent Mission of Russia reported in the telegram channel.
"Today - December 29 - at 16:00 in New York (December 30, 00:00 Moscow time) there will be an extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine," the message reads.
Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky specified that the meeting was requested by "Ukrainians and Westerners."
One of the last meetings of the Security Council on the topic of Ukraine was held on December 11. Polyansky spoke about the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine.
On the night of December 29, the Ukrainian authorities reported explosions in Kiev, Odessa, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Lviv, as well as Dnipro (former Dnepropetrovsk). They also told about several victims and damage in the cities. The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy announced power outages. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny reported a massive strike on critical infrastructure, industrial and military facilities.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that during the week from December 23 to December 29, the Russian army in Ukraine carried out 50 group and one massive strikes "on the facilities of the military-industrial complex, military airfield infrastructure, arsenals, as well as storage areas: artillery ammunition, unmanned boats, weapons and fuel for military equipment."
