The Tank 500 SUV will receive an economical version
A hybrid modification of the large Tank 500 SUV will appear in Russia
The model range of Tank (a branch of Great Wall Motors, which specializes in SUVs) in the Russian market continues to expand due to various modifications. The Tank 300 City with a Torque-on-Demand all-wheel drive transmission is already for sale (where the front wheels are connected automatically with a clutch), and today a new version of the flagship Tank 500 has been announced, which will appear in dealerships in the first quarter of 2024.
It is called Tank 500 Urban and is intended primarily for those customers who use an SUV to travel around the city, because a hybrid power plant is hidden under the body. It is effective in conditions of movement at low speeds with frequent stops.
The hybrid unit consists of a two-liter gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 245 hp (torque - 380 N∙m), and a 9-speed automatic transmission with an integrated electric motor (54 hp, 268 Nm). The total recoil is 299 hp (as in the version with a three-liter V6), and the peak torque is an impressive 616 N∙m.
Acceleration to a hundred is 7.9 seconds, and the average consumption in the NEDC cycle is 8.5 l/100 km, which is 3 liters less than that of the "Tenk" with a V6 engine. At the same time, off-road capabilities are preserved - the front drive is connected automatically, there is a downshift and differential locks.
The Tank 500 Urban will be offered in a seven-seater interior layout, with folding third and second row seats. Folded, they form a flat floor, which allows you to increase the volume of the luggage compartment to 1459 liters.
There are also a number of external differences from the gasoline Tank 500 Adventure and Premium configurations currently offered in Russia. In particular, the Tank 500 Urban received a radiator grille and wheels of the original design, and the spare wheel was taken to the door of the luggage compartment.
