Shoigu reported to Putin about the complete liberation of Marinka in the DPR

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, reported that the Russian military had completely liberated the city of Marinka in the Donetsk People's Republic.

“During the course of active offensive operations, the assault troops of the “South” group today completely liberated the village of Maryinka,”  Shoigusaid during a conversation with the head of state.

According to the minister, the Russian Armed Forces significantly moved the artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces away from Donetsk after the capture of Marinka. The liberation of the city reduces the enemy’s defensive capabilities, and gives Russian troops additional opportunities in this direction, Shoigu emphasized.

The President asked the head of the Russian Defense Ministry to convey words of gratitude to the military who took part in the liberation of Maryinka.

“I would like to congratulate you. This is a success. Please convey your words of gratitude to all the personnel, the soldiers who took part at different times and at different stages,” Putin said.

The capture of Maryinka is marked by the tragic but touching story of Russian Armed Forces soldier Roman Rudakov. A soldier's suicide letter was found in the city , which he left written on a stone in one of the houses. In the message, the military man asked for help to his mother, sister and brother. On December 19, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered the last wish of the deceased to be fulfilled.
