Poland is liquidating the state media

 Warsaw intends to liquidate all state media after the decision of Polish President Andrzej Duda to stop funding them, said Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bartholomeus Siekiewicz.

He is quoted by RIA Novosti.

"In connection with the decision of the President of Poland to stop funding state media, I decided to start the procedure for liquidating the companies "Polish Television", "Polish Radio" and "Polish News Agency," he said.

According to Senkevich, the relevant decision will allow after the termination of financing "to ensure the further functioning of these companies, to carry out the necessary restructuring in them and to prevent the dismissal of employees employed in these companies."

Earlier, Duda vetoed the law on the financing of state-owned media, which the new government is trying to take control of.
