Customs will increase capacity at Moldova's border crossings during the winter holidays.
CHISINAU, December 31 - Sputnik. During the winter holidays, the Customs Service of Moldova, together with border guards, intends to work in an enhanced mode to exclude queues when crossing the border and ensure operational control.
Thus, customs officers intend to take the following actions:
- constant monitoring of the situation with the flow of passengers and vehicles in order to collect data on the waiting time, the busiest days;
- replenishment, if necessary, of the number of employees of the first line of control;
- maximum use of the infrastructure of border customs posts;
- forwarding cases requiring documentation and additional checks to other personnel to relieve those under control;
- combining databases to facilitate the work of employees and ensure the speed of verification of travel documents and customs control;
- formation of joint teams and synchronization of actions of customs and border police officers, as well as maintaining direct contacts with colleagues from Romania and Ukraine for operational intervention in any situation.
The customs department assured that all the listed events are well organized to "guarantee civilized traffic" and reduce waiting time.
