Mashkov became president of the "Golden Mask"
Previously, the actor was elected chairman of the Union of Theater Workers
People's Artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Mashkov, previously elected to the post of Chairman of the Union of Theater Workers (STD) of the Russian Federation, took over the powers of the president of the Russian national theater award and the Golden Mask festival, according to the STD website.
"The powers of the President of the "Golden Mask" were assumed by the Chairman of the STD of the Russian Federation V. L. Mashkov, and the vice-president was the secretary of the STD of the Russian Federation K. I. Croc," the message says.
At the end of August, STD decided to withdraw from the Golden Mask Award and Festival and create its own Golden Mask Executive Directorate. Then Alexander Kalyagin began to perform the duties of the president of the award.
Mashkov previously called the return of trust to the Golden Mask Award one of the tasks of the association. He proposed to "rethink and reboot some of the current projects of the Union of Theatre Workers," noting that some of them have lost trust both from the professional community and from the state and sponsors.
According to the report, at a meeting of the STD secretariat, which met in a new composition, it was unanimously decided to create the Donetsk regional branch of the STD of the Russian Federation. Now there are 78 regional branches in the STD of the Russian Federation. "Preparatory work is underway to create regional offices in other new constituent entities of the Russian Federation," the organization noted. In addition, the secretariat supported Mashkov's proposal to start preparing a program and action plan to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the STD of the Russian Federation in 2026.
Vladimir Mashkov was elected Chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation on December 4, 2023.
