In Moldova, about 180 thousand people receive a salary "in an envelope"

 The Minister of Labor spoke about the situation on the labor market in Moldova.

CHISINAU, December 31 - Sputnik. About 180 thousand people work in Moldova illegally, that is, without an employment contract, said Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu. At the same time, he added, even if there is a contract, often part of the salary is paid to people in envelopes.

The Minister noted that such employees cannot enjoy labor and social rights, and also do not make a full contribution to the social security budget.

"The employment rate of Moldovan citizens is about 40%. This is the lowest rate in the region. We, in the ministry, try to create as many conditions, support and opportunities as possible for men, women, youth and people with disabilities in Moldova to get a job in the labor market," Buzu assured.
