Herring under a fur coat: what Putin treated Lukashenko and other CIS leaders to
Leaders of the countries of the post-Soviet space traditionally gathered at the end of the year to sum up the results of 2023 and outline plans for the future.
MINSK, December 26 – Sputnik. The lunch of the CIS heads of state as part of the informal summit in St. Petersburg was held in the Blue Hall of the Konstantinovsky Palace.
The first item on the menu is a classic salad for the post-Soviet space - “Herring under a fur coat”, followed by “Dumplings with Kamchatka crab”.
On the tables there was stewed sterlet with vegetables and caviar sauce, as well as venison with chestnut puree and black currants.
For dessert they served sea buckthorn sorbet and apple roll with fermented baked milk ice cream.
The drinks offered were Riesling (harvest 2022) and Cabernet Sauvignon (harvest 2020), which were supplied from the Divnomorskoye Estate.
Let us remember that last year breakfast at the informal summit was held within the walls of the Russian Museum, but the menu had a Belarusian accent: potato pancakes, porridge and cheesecakes.
